Buying my first proper VR headset 10 years after the release of the Oculus Rift CV1

The headset that kicked off the whole modern VR phenomenon, the Oculus Rift CV1, is now 10 years old. This and other models of a similar vintage are available on the used market for very attractive prices in 2026, so I decided that this was an ideal time to get into VR on a budget, and enjoy some of the immersive experiences I've been hearing about - but is the CV1 too old to make the most of it?
Oh, and I used a 2016-era moster PC to find out. Not sure that was my best move, tbh.
