Chris Chijiutomi, Managing Director and Head of Africa at BII, explains how Africa fits with BII’s new five-year strategy.

Drawing on nearly eight decades of partnership across the continent, Chris outlines why this history matters and how it shapes BII’s approach in a period of global uncertainty and widening financing gaps.

The strategy focuses on delivering the greatest impact for Africa’s development and growth by targeting priority sectors including financial services, power, trade, digital infrastructure and sustainable industries. It also deepens BII’s commitment to frontier markets, job creation, clean energy access and unlocking opportunities for Africans, including women.

Through partnerships with governments, development partners and institutional investors, BII will mobilise private capital to support resilient economies and long-term growth across Africa.
