In celebration of Black History Month, the Carnegie Center for Art and History participated in the National African American Read-In on Saturday, February 19th. Spoken word artist KennyFresh hosted the event, and included featured readers such as Deedee Cummings! Deedee shared some of her latest work from her series, Kayla: A Modern Day Princess. The public was also encouraged to both listen and to participate in the free program by reading short excerpts by African American authors in an open mic format via Zoom.
