This mini video shows several ways to quickly and easily create a torn paper effect. In the second part of the video, I switch to Affinity Designer v2 to make use of the Warp Group.
Keeping the design in vectors I can manipulate it easily using the Transform Mode to modify multiple nodes at the same time. I place a copy of the shape inside a clipping mask and use the shape or a stroke to create the white line at the edge.

![Affinity Designer Tutorial - Quick Fix - Easily Create a Dotted Effect for a Skyline
This quick video tutorial from 2Dgameartguru.com explains the stops to create a dotted effect in Affinity Designer
As Affinity Designer has no build-in Halftone functionality, I place the dots manually using nudge distance and cursor keys [and a whole lot of artistic freedom] to create a skyline shape.
Most of it can be created with other software tools such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Inkscape with minor alterations and different names for the tools used.

![Affinity Designer Mini Tutorial - Setting up Dynamic HSL Colour Adjustment
This mini video shows a quick way to change the colours [of the outline or fill] on multiple objects using stacked HSL adjustment layers.
How do you change the stroke colour of dozens of stacked and rotated shapes easily? This question popped up in the Affinity Designer - Hands-on Facebook group. Rather than do a manual change to each copy, I tried solving it by stacking HSL adjustment layers with a HUE shift.
It turned out to be surprising and fun :)

![Inkscape Mini Tutorial - Creating a Stickman Run Animation
This mini video tutorial from 2Dgameartguru.com uses the easy-to-pose stickman from an earlier video to create a run animation in Inkscape v1.3.
Inkscape is not an animation software but you can create animation frames [as well as parts for skeletal animations] with it. In this video, I will animate the stickman using onion skinning and keyframes before adding in-betweens for a more fluid run animation.
I use the Batch Export and Selections. Selecting the layers and a background rectangle to get frames with the same dimensions.
I used ezgif for my gif animations:

![Affinity Designer Timelapse - Game Art Creation & Character design
This is a timelapse video from 2Dgameartguru.com of a character creation process in Affinity Designer.
I am working with shapes and colours to create a game character from scratch - and without a concept [it was 2.30am and I just wanted to have some fun ;)].
Most of the functionality shown in the video can be created with other software tools such as Adobes Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Inkscape with minor alterations and different names for the tools used.

![Inkscape Tutorial - Game Art & Character Design - Refine an Game Character Concept [part 2]
This video tutorial from 2Dgameartguru.com continues with the changes and additions to the caveman game character from the previous video.
The video explains how to easily and quickly add more depth and detail to your game character in Inkscape. After working on the head in part1, we polish the separate body parts in this video to create some game-ready assets that look good and work in animation software like Spine, Spriter, or Dragon Bones [to name just a few of the tools available for skeletal based animation for games].
Most of the content covered here can be created with other software tools such as Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, or others with minor alterations and different names for the tools used.

![Affinity Designer Tutorial - Creating a Mosaic Effect with dashed lines
In this more advanced video, I create a somewhat realistic-looking mosaic effect in Affinity Designer using dashed lines and pressure curves.
Starting with the rough shape of a Blue Tang [aka Dory fish] using circles and the node tool, I create a mosaic pattern using dashed lines. Dashed lines dont allow pressure curve adjustments. In order to work around that issue, I created lines with two strokes. By using lines matching the shape of the fish, I bend the mosaic pattern, fill in smaller shapes with the Pen Tool, and finally separate all into individual tiles to colour with the Colour Picker Tool. The final touches are a 3D fx to give the tiles depth and shapes set to overlay for more colour variation/ shine.
Enjoy!
