This trick allows you to hold Negate permanently, ignoring energy restrictions.
Negate doesn't automatically drain all your psychic energy while holding it like you would expect. It actually seems like it's on a set timer separate from the game timer, because when you reduce the game speed to at least half, your energy eventually stops draining, leaving about a sixteenth of it. When reduced to one-tenth speed, energy doesn't drain at all.
So the idea is to get the game to activate slow-mo temporarily to keep a little bit of psychic power leftover so you can hold Negate forever.
Since you can't activate Time-damp without taking a hit to your energy level, you have to utilize the game's own design for actions that slow down time. You can't do a seismic pound because that erases all your energy, and I don't think you can perform a slow-mo dodge while holding a Negate shield.
Thankfully, there are two really easy options. The weapon select menu or the ledge dodge (probably one of the most useless moves in the game) both fill all the criteria needed. Activate the shield and open the menu, or ledge dodge and activate Negate right before the game slows and you'll end up with a sliver of energy and an infinite Negate Shield.

![Alter Echo - Alt Pounce (speedrun trick)
It turns out that its possible to do something similar to the Morph Pounce using a cliff edge instead of a stealth track. By abusing certain environments, the Alt Pounce expands the number of potential areas that can be broken throughout most of the game.
Morph Pounce: [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EqND43sh4M ]
Find an edge that the Stealth form can walk out onto and try to use some unusual geometry. Your goal is to get close enough to the cliff that youre about to fall off. Now in quick succession, move forward off the cliff and press pounce. If you did it correctly, there will be no animation for the pounce, but youll be moving fast and have access to your double jumps.
Im still fairly uncertain of the specifics of this trick, but I assume theres some confusion where the game is making Nevin move forward (off the cliff) while also making him pounce. There may be a split-second delay for the activation of the pounce in which Nevin continues moving in whatever direction you hold, meaning that the game acknowledges youre trying to pounce after you fall off. Since the pounce didnt have a chance to activate, the initial velocity is still applied, but the rest of it is cancelled, giving you the standard double jump back like with normal falls.
Because this is a really hard and temperamental trick to test, Ive only found a few uses for it so far but the added boost over cliffs could easily allow for some great sequence breaks. Since most areas of the game separate you from objectives by cliffs or by locked doorways, the Alt Pounce and the Morph Pounce let you cover quite a number of areas.
