Kendal Ozzel was from a wealthy family on the planet Carida. He served in the military for decades, first in the Republic Navy and later in the Galactic Empire. There was a woman he loved on Carida who decided to fight against the Empire and asked him to join her. But he refused and kept his loyalty to the Emperor, becoming a member of the Joint Chiefs by the year fourteen BBY. When the super star destroyer Executor was constructed shortly after the Battle of Yavin, he was given command of the ship that was initially meant to serve as the flagship for Grand General Tagge. But Darth Vader was given authority over the Imperial fleet, who then killed Tagge and accepted Ozzel as its leader. He served alongside General Veers, reporting to Darth Vader on military operations, sometimes at Fortress Vader on Mustafar. When the Rebel base was discovered on Hoth, Ozzel brought the fleet out of hyperspace close to the planet, hoping to surprise his enemies. Instead their ship signatures were detected coming out of lightspeed, giving the rebels enough time to activate their shield generator. Frustrated with Ozzel’s blunder, Darth Vader Force choked him to death. #starwars
