The Defence Force School of Signals exercised its Freedom of Entry to the City of Banyule on Sunday 05 October 2025. The ceremonial honour reflects the trust and respect between the Australian Defence Force and the local community. This tradition dates back to medieval times, when a city granted a trusted military unit the right to enter with drums beating, colours flying and bayonets fixed. The parade not only showcased military precision but also reaffirmed the strong bond between the Signals Corps and the City of Banyule.
