The Australian Defence Force (ADF), New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) and the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) have come together in Suva, Fiji, to enhance military capabilities and interoperability through the Exercise Coral Warrior 2026. The Coral Warrior series includes a suite of training serials and exercises with Fiji, including Coral Sapper.
Coral Sapper saw a multidisciplinary team including carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and tilers from the 6th Engineer Support Regiment deploy to Suva, Fiji. Their task was the renovation of Dilkusha Children’s Home, an orphanage caring for over 100 young children. The works included a safety assessment to rectify potentially dangerous electrical systems and structural issues within the facility, as well as a refresh of the bedrooms and bathrooms.
The ADF and RFMF have an enduring relationship, continually strengthened by partnering activities in both Fiji and Australia.
