In his latest book 'Crashed: How a Decade of Financial Crisis Changed the World' historian and professor at Columbia University, Adam Tooze, argues that the complex fissure of globally integrated financial markets, political chaos and geopolitical tensions from which we are reeling prove that the impacts of the 2008 financial shock are still with us. With the corona crisis leaving the world in a place of great uncertainty, we discussed how to use the crisis of 2008 to explain the dynamics of the current Covid-19 crisis and quite simply whether the economy really going bust. On top of that, we talked about everything from the on-going Trade War to the pandemic's effect on the emerging markets.
