This is such a special time of year — June — when the garden is brimming with abundance from all the spring plantings. In this video, I take you on a tour of just half of Homeacres, which is really growing now, and share how the no dig method continues to produce healthy, beautiful crops with very little disturbance to the soil.
There’s so much to show — tayberries full of flavour, sweet peas that were sown in December, early growth on tomatoes and melons in the greenhouse, and succession plantings of beetroot, potatoes,, chard and more. I also take you through the polytunnel where I’ve noticed a curious problem with some cucumbers and wonder about the possible causes.
As always, I’m growing on compost-mulched soil, no feeds or fertilisers added — just observing, experimenting and sharing what’s working (and what’s not). You'll also see how I manage weeds and pests, build compost, interplant crops, and keep the garden tidy for better results.
