AD- gifted product. The lovely people at Etchr_lab sent me some watercolour paper to try. This is a cold press 8inch watercolour block. The paper is 50% cotton and it’s gummed at the top and bottom edge (but not the sides, which surprised me!).
This is my first time using it so I’ll not give a comprehensive review here but I did like the paper, it’s absorbent, slightly off white, quite textured - which you can probably tell from how the granulating paints I’ve used here have settled.
The paints I’ve used are potters pink, paynes grey and sepia from Winsor and Newton, and lunar blue from Daniel Smith.
This is a slightly updated version of a Celtic knot pattern. I’ve got a Celtic knot watercolour tutorial up on my YouTube channel if you want to give it a try. The pattern is slightly different but I used the same principles to paint this one. youtu.be/zeo_kjVy718
