I was finally able to explore this amazing old cement factory that I had driven past my whole life. Looks like I was not the first one to explore it though. It has been gutted by vandals, fire and weather. The plant itself was built by Sun Portland Cement Co. in the 1920s to provide concrete for the construction of the Owyhee Dam. Then was sold to a few other companies before the limestone deposits were gone. The location is in a remote river canyon surrounded by steep hill sides. The artwork throughout the site was impressive. Please leave your comments on what you thought of this explore, I would love to hear from you.
