A very short clip (1 minute!) of digitised cine film showing LNER 4-6-2 Class A4 number 4468 'Mallard' departing from a very crowded station at Stratford-upon-Avon in the mid-1980s. On the adjacent platform was A4 number 4498 'Sir Nigel Gresley'.
'Mallard' was withdrawn from service in August 1988 and placed on static display in York Railway Museum. The locomotive, which holds the world steam speed record of 126mph, is unlikely to steam again.
