Today we're looking at Glenmorangie A Tale of Spices. The defining characteristic of this release is its ambitious maturation process. For the first time in Glenmorangie's history, the whisky was finished in a combination of four different cask types after its initial aging in ex-bourbon barrels. This "four-cask finish" was designed to mimic the layered complexity of a spice bazaar:

Moroccan Red Wine Casks (French Oak): A first for the distillery, these provide a tannic structure and deep, aromatic spice notes.
New Charred Oak Casks: These add a punch of toasted wood and a smoky, spicy dimension.
Shaved, Toasted, and Re-charred (STR) Red Wine Casks: These casks contribute fruity sweetness and wine-influenced depth.
Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry Casks: These bring a rich, syrupy sweetness to balance the more aggressive spice elements.

After the previous tale, which was supposed to be Ice Cream, I was vary but hey this tale is worth reading again and again!
