Lady Rebecca Fashions | A Tale of Two Capes -- Half-circle vs Full-circle capelets -- What's the difference? @LadyRebeccaFashions | Uploaded February 2023 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Today we're taking a look at two capes from the late Victorian or early Edwardian period -- between the 1890s-1900s -- and seeing what the difference is in construction and drape of a half-circle versus a full-circle capelet. How are they made, what materials were they made of, what embellishments were used, and how they drape when worn.
These are two velvet capelets that have been in my antique collection for many years. If you want to see more of my antique clothing collection, check out this playlist: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeUQ-NeEZhXxMYLHRDkzeGsYUnq1OoFLX
