Taia777 is a channel which has had a surprising amount of impact on a lot of people, including myself. The uploads of SNES video game music, complete with moving backgrounds of the levels and areas they're from instead of the game's logo like every other channel does, sets it apart as unique and makes their videos interesting.
Soon enough, their extensions gained enough traction where people who didn't recognize the game or song would find them through recommendations. Thousands of people began to make "checkpoints", a style of comment where people would share their struggles in the grand game that is life and their thoughts on the future, in response to the emotive music. The most popular of these "checkpoint" videos was an upload of Stickerbush Symphony from Donkey Kong Country 2, extended, with a background of the vines found throughout the level. It was one of the many videos that was copyright struck by Nintendo only two days prior to uploading this.
I felt I owed it to everyone who it has helped to create my own safe space to share their stories in my own way, and once that strike happened I scoured the internet to gather all my favorite mixes of the songs featured on that channel. Unfortunately, some games like DKC3 and PMD did not appear to have any existing lofi covers of the songs showcased on the Taia777 channel, but I hope this video serves as a nice calm in the great storms that this world throws at us regardless. A look into both the past and our future. I guess that was a checkpoint of my own, haha.
