A SpaceX rocket is about to hit the Moon, and no space agency caught it coming. An amateur astronomer did.

Independent tracker Bill Gray was the first to calculate the impact, and researchers told NPR the debris these hits throw up poses a real risk to future astronauts and lunar infrastructure.
