Want a glimpse of what the Northern Pacific was like, see a GP9 ROARING, starting up, and SMOKING? You're in luck with The Saint Croix Valley Railroad! This classy railroad is known for having its locomotives painted in Northern Pacific inspired colors, and running on the former NP mainline.
We'll see this railroad put all three of its locomotives together, and made a run to the end of action track. The power are two former SD45s, now SD40M-2s, and a GP9. We'll get to see the GP9 startup, smoke, and roar to life. After seeing the train roll down the former NP mainline, we'll watch as the GP9 works a heavy cut of cars. With each heavy pull on the drawbar, the veteran GP9 kicks out plumes of smoke, and gets the job done. After the work was finished, we'll see the former SD45s running back to Rush City. This is a NEAT railroad, and well worth seeing! The crews were also GREAT, and very friendly.
