Welcome to another episode of Challenger Approaching! In this series, we create full newcomer designs for characters who might be invited to a future entry of Super Smash Bros, going deep into detail on their moves, stats, and everything a newcomer needs!
This time, our Challenger is someone playing second fiddle newcomer-wise to a different character from their own series! Magolor heralded Kirby's modern era with his appearance in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, and he's been showing up here and there ever since. Including a remaster of his debut game, which included a new postgame mode that put him front and center! But it's hard to talk about any Kirby character in terms of Smash newcomers, because they're left waiting in line behind everyone's favorite spear-wielding Waddle Dee.
But what if things aligned to give Magolor a chance after all? We've seen Smash introduce multiple Kirby newcomers at once before, so who's to say it can't happen again? And how could Magolor's unique style of magic and his ability to bend the dimensions to his will make him an interesting new addition to Smash? Watch on to find out!
