After eating bak kut teh, salted egg crabs and durians with local food blogger Dr. Leslie Tay a.k.a. ieatishootipost, Ambassador and Mrs. Wagar decided to turn the tables on him. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, they introduced Southern food to Leslie at The Beast Southern Kitchen and Bourbon Bar.

The menu included biscuits, shrimp and grits, bacon mac and cheese, fried chicken and gravy and bourbon pecan pie, and other Southern comfort food goodies. Check out the doctor-blogger’s introduction to American “soul food.”
