There's more to Seyðisfjörður than the blue church and rainbow road ⛪🌈
For most travelers, this charming small town is on their list for a picture in front of the blue church on the colourful rainbow road, but just outside the town centre, you'll find a great hike 🥾🏔️
This is Tvísöngur, a sound sculpture consisting of five concrete domes, placed with great views overlooking the fjord. Each dome represents a tone in traditional Icelandic five-part harmony 🎶
The hike up is just 700 meters, but steep all the way. Step inside and sing; you'll notice the acoustics change completely in each dome, since every space was designed to hold sound differently.
From Tvísöngur, you can keep hiking further up the mountainsides of the fjord. You could spend a whole day hiking here if you have the time. Just remember to bring sturdy hiking boots.
