Written over a decade ago & dead along with my first computer, this is a scene (as the title implies) straight out of the first chapter within "The Eight Accursed." The 8 cursed is a retcon name from the first book within the trilogy. It tales of a chaotic life being led by supernatural inhabitants of the 1200s if the portal to hell were to be opened up. Additionally it narrates the lives of 8 who are rumored to be cursed in a brilliant body horror, adult drama, & hyper violent gore fashion.
In chapter one you're introduced to one; "Francis Mosely." & albeit this chapter narrates him as a protagonist, you may actually think of him as an antagonist the way he carelessly discards the significance of his son's life, preferring to lift a curse from him not from love, but from sheer need for him as a business partner. Additionally he finds a little girl in the swamp who is carrying around her neck "The Vajra." This element of Exitium is one of 3 that govern all of existence. The Vajra itself can distort space time. So on his quest to hell, Francis observes the girl who is sporting the Vajra as a necklace and decides to off her.
Francis may have bitten off more than he can chew however.
Not only is he destined to face a dragon the likes of which no single man has ever done by himself, but he's now garnished the attention of a Crusades war veteran who evidently has an emotionl connection with the now deceased little girl.
