I know this angle isn’t great and my arms block much of what is crucial to the process but this should nevertheless give you all a general idea of the process of threading my Holmes.

If you look closely at the top and bottom of the unit you’ll notice the absence of rollers that were originally installed when I received the projector from Magna-Tech in Miami, Florida. These were both axed as we found out over time despite numerous attempts to sterilize and de-rust the surfaces the rollers were giving my prints light but apparent hairlines. We covered the rough surfaces of the slots in which the film goes through along (normally) with the rollers with silky-soft moleskin from Rite Aid. It’s replaced and re-applied every few months when enough emulsion dirt and debris accumulates to generate mild concern (even then… to my shock, my prints come back out the way they were prior to playback). And so now my prints are essentially (for the most part) foolproof until corner stores run out of moleskin for me to live off of.
