We are driving 750 miles through Central and Southwestern Mexico in this vlog, and giving you a super realistic view of what it's like to road trip through Mexico with a dog. This road trip starts in Guadalajara and our end destination is Puerto Escondido in southwestern Mexico. The roads in Mexico can be slow with lots of pot holes and things to look out for, so we've given ourselves three days to make the 1200 kilometer journey. This drive in Mexico is one of the most beautiful because we'll be following the coast for much of the journey, and get some awesome views along the way as a result.

To add to the fun of this adventure, we are driving though Mexico with our dog, Evie. Traveling in Mexico by car with a dog is an adventure that we are absolutely loving so far. If you're just coming across our channel, welcome to "Season 4" of our travels, where Mico and I are driving from Canada to Panama in an old Rav-4 with Evie. Driving through Canada and the USA were a breeze, but many people warned us about driving through Mexico and were quite nervous to discover we had plans to go through North and Central America on our own. This video will give you a look at what it's really like to drive in Mexico - is it as dangerous as people think it is? Or has the media given us some ideas about Mexico that just aren't true?

This three day driving adventure begins in one of Mexico's biggest cities - Guadalajara, and by the end of the first day we make our way to Zihuatanejo. Zihuatanejo is a beautiful tourist town that is often visited by locals and foreigners alike, and made for an awesome stop on the first night of our journey. We spend night two an hour south of Acapulco at a hotel right on the water, which was actually all we could find in this remote part of the Mexican coast!

During our road trip days, we share with you what it's really like to drive in Mexico. We stop for some delicious Mexican food along the way, pass many military check points, get approached by dozens of people looking to sell us goods and services, and pass through innumerable small towns that we would completely miss if we weren't traveling in Mexico in our own vehicle. We are so lucky to be able to drive through Mexico independently so we can see all the little stops along the way, and really enjoy the journey of seeing what road tripping in Mexico is really like.

======================

Hey there! We are Nicole and Mico and in March 2021, we quit our jobs, sold our belongings, and began traveling the world! We never thought we'd be making travel vlogs on YouTube, but after realizing that we had a unique opportunity to share our adventure and make the world feel more familiar and inviting to anyone watching, we took the leap and picked up the camera! We hope our videos show how wonderful, delicious, and friendly the world can be.
