Pioneering the future with "Nuclear x Renewable"! The Nuclear Science Research Institute (NSRI) is a scientific hub that supports the foundations of society: energy, materials, safety, and creativity. To realize JAEA's vision, "Pioneering a new future with Nuclear x Renewable," we promote cutting-edge research and development based on three themes: "Synergy," "Sustainability," and "Ubiquity“. "Synergy" research transcends the dichotomy of nuclear or renewable energy and leverages the strengths of both. "Sustainability" research enhances the safety of nuclear power generation and ensures its sustainability. "Ubiquity" research expands the potential of nuclear technology to society, not only for power generation but also for medical care and new materials development.
