Some of the world's hardest decision-making problems, energy distribution, logistics, air traffic safety, share a hidden mathematical structure once you look closely enough. The ALMOA Project, a Horizon Europe-funded doctoral training network coordinated by the University of Klagenfurt, is built to uncover that structure and turn it into next-generation optimization methods.
With 13 doctoral researchers spread across 13 sites in Europe, including academic and industry partners, ALMOA trains researchers to abstract real-world problems into shared mathematical frameworks, so a method built to solve one industry's challenge can transfer directly to another.
