White House Advisor Patrick Witt on the passing of the Genius Act and what’s next:
“Obviously the Genius Act was a massive win and really an example of when Congress does something right, kind of gets ahead of an issue, legislates to innovate rather than legislating in a time of crisis. We’re trying to do the same thing with the Clarity Act now...
It is so important is because we obviously have great pro-crypto regulators at those different commissions right now, but the work that they’re doing can be undone if you get a future Gary Gensler to come back in there...the value of Clarity will certainly be felt in the near term. But where I think people will be really, really grateful for it is in a potential future administration that sees digital assets differently, is less innovation friendly. They’re going to be severely limited in their ability to try and roll back the gains that we make during this administration.”
–Patrick Witt, Executive Director of the President’s Council of Advisors for Digital Assets at Solana Policy Institute Summit 2026
