“My theory was like, I can pitch to the firm and also to that particular partner. And even if the firm would pass on it, I would ask him, ‘Would you write an angel check, a small check if I get a lead?’
And then if I could get a soft commitment, then they were much more likely to help me connect with other venture firms that they know that are investing in that space.”
