Sometimes needs are the inspiration for invention. I'm always seeking new products that can be marketed from a small one man workshop. Everybody needs tables. How can a small shop streamline production for simplicity, efficiency, profitability, inventory control/storage and still be marketable to fulfill customer needs. Hence the inspiration for designing a new way of making tables.
This was the exploration of the prototype before I start designing processes to batch out multiple tables. Full description on how you can make a one off while exploring batch production ideas.
There's never anything totally new in woodworking. Inspiration is derivative. Yet sometimes you come upon a new way of applying old techniques to solve your needs. While there might've been another craftsman back in the 1300's that did the same thing it is only because they were a genius and thought like you.
And inspirations drawn from history and current content has resulted in a new way of making tables. "The Graham Way".
