Big XR brand crossovers this week: A Meta Quest 3S Xbox Edition seemingly leaked, followed shortly by the official reveal of a $500 limited edition bundle. Meanwhile, Meta is reportedly teaming up with Prada for high-end smart glasses, and Oakley has now officially joined the Meta smart glasses lineup.
Google is making moves too, taking a stake in Gentle Monster as it quietly positions itself in the smart glasses race. Snap is experimenting with real-world ad blocking using Spectacles, and is also teaming up with Niantic to bring VPS-powered AR to Snapchat experiences.
And in hardware funding news, Virtuix — the company behind the VR treadmill “Omni One” — has raised another $3M through crowd investment, now sitting at a $200M valuation.
