An old friend from High School has written a book called "MonoThreeism: An Absurdly Arrogant Attempt to Answer All the Problems of the Last 2000 Years in One Night at a Pub". It's in keeping with his great sense of humour and contains a nice balance of academic ideas and popular level writing. Jonathan Lyonhart argues that the trinity doesn't need to be rational in the same way and for the same reason that Big Bang Theories don't need to be rational. There's something about explanations for the origin and foundation of reality where rationality must be violated, or so he argues.
Jonathan Lyonhart (PhD, Cambridge) is an assistant professor of theology and philosophy at Lincoln Christian University and a Fellow at the Cambridge Center for the Study of Platonism. His most recent book, MonoThreeism, explores the intersection of Trinitarian theology, philosophy, and cosmology, and is available now on Amazon
