I did not think it was possible for a book to be worse than Again, But Better...but look what I found. The contemporary equivalent to your nightly sleep paralysis demon.

For a book starring a comedian, the humor was bland, strangely outdated, and trying to hard to be quirky.
You have a choice between moody grump Siri as your protagonist or obnoxious selfish Jamie. Neither of which are good characters.
Badly handles "show, don't tell"
Tries to teach good sisterly and family morals but fails because its characters are the most unlikable bunch out there.
Side characters are easily the best characters but they're just too perfect in there own ways.
Vomiting is the best way to show emotion in this book.
And lastly, this is the book equivalent to Squidward telling his band "People talk louder if they want to sound smarter, right?" (CORRECT)
If I wanted to be stuck with immature protagonists, I'd go read a book like the Room or Imaginary Friend that stars literal 5 or 6 years old. And those little dudes are far more rational and cognizant.
I don't think I'm going to read the contemporary genre again for a while because of this book.
