I've been reaching quite far out of my usual tastes in terms of music; I've yet to find out if I'm onto something or if I am absolutely nuts! Regardless, I have made something I think is very intriguing, and while it may not be most people's cup of tea I hope someone else can find this as fascinating as I did.
The Moog Mavis is a portable, semi-modular analog synthesizer I've most recently acquired, as I have been eager to explore the world of synthesis and electronic music. This recording is made with the Mavis alone, including a couple spacial effects added in post.
In patching and playing this instrument, I found many delightful surprises along the way, such as evolving patterns and events that would happen spontaneously. I would have an idea in my head for something to happen when I interacted with the Mavis, and often times it went a totally different way than I expected, and often in a fantastic way too. There's a lot I found similar to the jazz music I play on the regular, perhaps there's a connection to be made there...
I am very excited to learn and do more, and I hope you enjoy!
