In today’s episode of #MinuteWithMark, we celebrate the opening of the new Meadowview Foundation Dental and Oral Surgery Center at #UCDavisVetMed by honoring a dog named Toby.
Toby was an abused doodle whose jaw was broken so badly that it healed abnormally at a perpendicular angle. Rescue Unleashed, a dog rescue organization in the Seattle area, took Toby to a veterinary dental specialist there who referred him to @UCDavis. Rescue Unleashed made the trek with Toby to California, where Dr. Boaz Arzi and his team were able to... well, watch the video and find out.
Thanks to the generosity and vision of the Meadowview Foundation and other donors, our Dentistry and Oral Surgery Service team now works in an expanded, state-of-the-art facility to provide the highest level of care for animals like Toby.
As a nonprofit public institution, we educate the next generations of students and specialists while researching and developing new treatments. Donors provide critical funding to update facilities, purchase new equipment, support faculty positions, and make other investments that keep UC Davis as the go-to place for complex cases like Toby’s. We are grateful for every gift that we receive.
Rescue Unleashed informed us this week that Toby has been adopted! We’re so happy for him and his new family, and send Rescue Unleashed our thanks for their tireless dedication.
