So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village & civil parish of Notgrove, which is located in the county of Gloucestershire, England. The village is approximately 28 miles (17 km) to the east of the city of Gloucester and almost 4.5 miles (7 km )east of it's post town Cheltenham. Notgrove was listed in the Domesday book of 1086 under Nategrave which is derived from an old English meaning "wet grove or Copse". The population in the village stood at 184 in 2011.
The parish church is dedicated to Saint Bartholomew and is of Norman origins, it is also believed that the church lies on the site of a Saxon cemetery.
Notgrove once had it's own railway station which was on the Banbury & Cheltenham Direct Railway.
If like me, you are quite partial to Cotswold dry stone walling then you are in for a real treat in this village. Notgrove is an incredibly beautiful & mesmerising village.
