I don’t think it’s much of a stretch to say there’s been a boon of animated shorts recently, whether they be simple small scale narratives or full blown musical productions, all taking advantage of a short form structure to explore all their technical and thematic ideas as deeply as they can without overstaying their welcome. And one of my recent favourites has been Shingo Tamagawa’s 3 minute short from 2020, Puparia. So today, I just want to quickly talk about why I adore this short.
