ASHLAND - A brand new $2.5 million dollar bus facility is nearing completion.

Nearly 30-years ago the Bay Area Rural Transit center began its operation with just three buses, now they have nearly 20.

"This met our needs in the old days, but we've outgrown it," said Randy Carlson with BART.

In the last four years ridership at the BART has gone up 400 percent.

Nearly 70,000 rides were given last year alone.
