Ok so, my wife came home with this for me a few weeks ago.
It's a bit overkill for RC use but will come in handy none the less (I'm too damn fat & old to be crawling on the floor).
Jen picked this up at a home improvement store (Lowes) for about $15 bucks or less (she thinks).
The name on it says Anvil and has a warning about using it chest level if you have a pace maker.
The handle extends between @ 27 inches to @ 44 inches. The head also swivels @ 30 degrees.
Pay no attention to my floor, the puppy tore the hell out of a toy and I didn't do me chores yet... It's an every day pick up dog toys & stuffing around here...
It did pick up an old 7.62 ammo can I keep my lead shot in (about a half bag @ 12 pounds). It wouldn't lift too high, @ 4 or 5 inches, so I say keep the weight down to 10 pounds or less and it should be fine.
All in all, its a great tool to cover a large floor area if you drop small bits. It's not too good for tight spots or very limited room, but a large open floor or even outside, it beats bending over if you have a bad back or bad joints/bones...
