In part one of this journey, I team up with Alex Petty from @theravenswoodacademy8796 as we begin our journey into Seven Star Mantis Kung Fu. We explore Shanghai, where in 1919, Luo Guangyu, Yang Weixin and Wang Chuanyi were invited to bring their Mantis Kung Fu from Shandong south.
Together, we explore the roots of the style, tracing its legacy back to its origins, and discover how the Jingwu Athletic Association in Shanghai is preserving the original legacy of Seven Star Mantis as taught at the original headquarters since 1919. We meet masters Li Dalin and Zhang Jian Fang to learn more.
