Atdiy over at Toymaker Television was interested in trying to make her own capacitor out of the kind of stuff you have on hand: namely aluminum foil and an insulator (she used saran wrap, I used wax paper). Her early experiments didn't seem to hold a charge: I suspected that maybe their value was too low to be measured by a voltmeter. So, I made a cap of my own, and used it for the timing cap in a 555 multivibrator circuit.
