Its officially October and many of us in the Northern Hemisphere are starting our preparations for Samhain. The four Celtic fire festivals are heavily celebrated by me, though Im the only person in my home that does so, unless we count Halloween. This is the first year of celebrating Samhain in our new house and, since having an apartment and not a lot of space over the last few years, I really dont have a lot of decorations.
Today, Id like to bring you with me as I craft some new decorations for a brand new altar space and sprinkle in some of my thoughts on ancestor work as a beginner and as someone that has complicated lineage, I guess.

Do you label your witchcraft practice? Maybe youre a green witch, or a cottage witch, or a kitchen witch? Labels in witchcraft are really prevalent in the online community. They give witches a way to define their practices, specialties, and interests. But are they always a good idea? In my opinion, sometimes a label for your witchcraft practice can have major downsides to your life and your craft depending on how you work with labels. So, are you a green witch? A kitchen witch? A cottage witch? A crystal witch? An eclectic witch? (Oh man, there are so many labels... 😅)
In todays episode, I give my perspective and opinion on the different ways labels can help and harm your witchcraft practice. As always, this episode is simply one witchs thoughts! I dont personally label my witchcraft, though I have labeled my polytheistic practice. Dont forget that labels are community created and arbitrary they only matter if they matter to you!

Ogham, or ogam, is an ancient Irish alphabet used for engraving headstones and other stones and pillars. Today, it is a common form of divination. Come along with me as I make my own set of ogham stones and read some stories from mythology about ogham. And dont mind my terrible pronunciation of Irish words. Im still learning!

Prayer has always been something that I have found difficult to talk about in community spaces. Its been my experience that a lot of pagans have this aversion to prayer, or even just the word prayer. I want to talk about that because as pagans, we can still pray; it just might not look like what youre used to seeing. As a pagan, when you pray, nothings really changing except the person that youre talking to, and maybe the way that you pray.
