From Will: On December 31, 2003 I took a photo. Not such a big deal, I'm a photographer. I posted this particular photo on my website: http://www.willyurman.com. And the next day I took another photo, and posted it, and the next day, and the next.
I haven't missed a day since - more than eight years and nearly 3000 photos later the photos represent the world, through my eyes, one day at a time. My children have grown up, we've traveled from the glaciers of Alaska to the beaches of Virginia, changed jobs and homes. I've documented news events - elections, parades, homicides - but mostly I have tried to capture the moments off to the side. The fireworks end up in the paper, but my daughter, screaming with delight at each burst, ends up on my site. The police tape at a crime scene is published, but three children, now orphans, peering through a door are remembered on my page.
The project is part diary, part sketch pad. It is a place of moments and memories.
I will be exhibiting a selection from the project at ArtisanWorks, artisanworks.net a wonderful gallery in Rochester, N.Y. And I hope to be able to exhibit in our new home in Penn State.
The money raised through Kickstarter will help cover the costs of the exhibit including prints of my favorite images. I'm also hoping to raise enough money to create a ribbon of every photo in the project as well as an interactive digital presentation and an old-fashion ink on paper book.

Bio: I have been a photographer for, well, a long time. I started work as an assistant in Albany New York for the great Gary Gold. I have worked in Juneau, Alaska, the Middle East and exotic Buffalo, N.Y.
For 16 years I was a staff photographer at the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle where I photographed daily life and long-term projects as well as exploring multimedia storytelling combining audio, still photos and video.

In January of 2011 I left the newspaper to become a fullt-time faculty member at Penn State University where I teach photojournalism and multimedia storytelling.
I am most proud of my year-long project 'Not Forgotten' documenting the lives of homicide victims. The work was exhibited at the George Eastman House. You can see the images and listen to family members here: willyurman.com/wordpress/?p=126
