A Court of Mist and Fury chapters 5 to 7 reaction and review. We pick up Feyre’s bargain with Rhysand, her first real days inside the Night Court, and the Spring Court tithe that shows who actually cares about the starving and who cares more about appearances.

Chapter 5, the bargain finally comes due. Rhysand arrives to claim his week, Tamlin freezes instead of fighting, and Feyre is yanked out of the Spring Court and dropped into a Night Court that looks nothing like the horror stories, jasmine air, starlight, and space to breathe.

Chapter 6, Feyre meets Mor and learns the truth about who Rhys is, High Lord, not just nightmare courtier. Day one turns into reading lessons, mind shielding, and a new kind of training that treats her as a weapon and a partner instead of a fragile ornament. Rhys pushes her to see herself as more than Tamlin’s subject, someone who can shape the next war instead of hiding from it.

Chapter 7, the Spring Court tithe strips off the pretty paint. Feyre watches a hungry water wraith turned away for being poor, remembers what it means to starve, and breaks protocol to help. The fallout shows exactly how far Tamlin will go to protect his image. Feyre’s powers crack through the surface, mind slipping into Lucien’s, fire searing the table, and the illusion of a gentle, safe court burns down another step.

Themes, autonomy versus obligation, trauma that needs real healing instead of a prettier cage, hunger and class under all the magic, bargains as lifelines, and the difference between protection that locks you in and protection that teaches you to stand up with your own power.
A Court of Thorns and Roses Wiki

Character moments, Feyre stops treating herself like a guest and starts testing the edges of her new power, Tamlin keeps choosing control and tradition over compassion, Lucien folds under pressure even when he knows she is right, Rhysand keeps blurring the line between manipulative High Lord and the only one actually listening to what Feyre wants, while Mor walks in as the first true ally Feyre has had in a long time.

Lore notes, more proof Feyre carries pieces of every High Lord, a clearer contrast between Night Court freedom and Spring Court rituals, bargains that are binding in magic and politics, and early signs of how Hybern, the courts, and Feyre’s role in the coming war are all going to crash into each other.
