One of D. W. Griffith’s greatest Biograph shorts, “A Corner In Wheat” is a milestone not only in Griffith's career, but also that of the entire film industry. The short deals with a very real and very heavy topic of the day, making liberal use of modern editing techniques to tell it. Featuring a cast of Biograph regulars, this film is almost a required viewing for anyone with interest in silent movies. Enjoy it here with my accompaniment!
