As part of the celebrations for Chinese new year, Southampton University along with Chinese arts held a lantern making workshop and a dragon paraded through the streets of the city.
A tradition to to ward off evil as well as pray for good fortune and safety, members of the public were invited to make their own lanterns, and join in the celebration of Chinese culture.
