It started innocently enough as I lifted the ST7735 Color TFT from a little used channelized 60M SSB Transceiver. This particular rig built some 5 years ago was intended to take advantage of the 60M Band by using a channel selector for the authorized 5 channels. The 60M band was like the 44DD YL -- looked pretty dam good but pretty shallow once you tuned the band.
Once I got the 3.2-inch ILI9341 Color TFT for the JF3HZB it was time to return the ST7735. But then I thought why not remake this rig into a 40M Channelized rig with a Clarifier.
I have been successful in my quest and this video is the "Proof of Life". The 40M band has pretty much turned into a channelized band and you get to pick the channels. I kept the original 5 Position switch, but a 12 Position switch would let you zip on through the whole band. The Clarifier in essence gives you the full band coverage.
I needed to additionally change the Band Pass Filter (unsoldered two caps) and add a new LPF.
The whole thrust is a portable and compact rig.
