Ive had the idea of a wintery eurobeat track on my mind for a while now— not necessarily a holiday-specific one, but nevertheless one where the mood felt cold all the way through. Ive done a few Aishu tracks (the term for sentimental eurobeat with specific, usually lower-energy arrangements— in fact, it was the name of this songs project file!) in the past, but few quite scratch that itch the same way as Queen Of Ice has.
By the way, regarding aliases— Ill be dabbling with ft. [Alias] in the near future. Ive been using Odyssey Eurobeat as the only one out of requirement by online distributors, but thereve been a number of complaints in favor of bringing aliases back. While I cant change what distributors want, I *can* use their rules to bring back aliases like DNA Team, Ken Blast, Jessa, and… well, this time, Mortimer. ;)

Gosh, this one was a doozy. The melody was stuck in my head for quite a while before I committed it to paper (DAW?), and the lyrics took under half an hour to write— but I think it might just be one of the catchiest tracks Ive released in quite some time.

I decided to write instead about the idea of confronting one’s inner voices— they may not go away, but perhaps they can be tamed and managed. “Seven Minutes” flowed lyrically, and then it worked as a more interesting title than “Out Of My Mind” imo. Certainly more meaningful to the song’s lyrics than the project name, “Trifecta”, anyway.

This was called Cowboys in my drafts because the original song idea was about a cowboy who could only say, I Am A Cowboy. I decided to make something a bit more intense, change the theme, and... here we are!
Also, for whatever reason, my last original release (Turn Your Love Around) seemed to give people the idea that the vocals (which I recorded a year prior) were the only way Id sing from now on. Which... no. Just. No. Long-time fans know I would never make such a drastic shift in the music I make without at least talking it out with the Oddities.
So, instead of encouraging people to read the description (a sadly fruitless endeavor), I decided that the next release was the time to remind folks that this is still how I always plan to sing— with power, passion, and love of this genre. So here it is!
