Rondout, IL rail fans have been waiting for this, now here it is. This is a new and improved full length version of the earlier short version vintage Rondout videos that are posted on this channel.
This video has everything - Metra, Amtrak, Soo Line, Milwaukee Road, EJ&E, and MOW activity all recorded over a 3 hour period on August 4, 1987. As multiple track maintenances were occurring in the Rondout vicinity, all trains had to share one track on the mainline, which lead to many Metra meets and delays.
Good closeups of Metra F40C 604 and Soo Line GP38 4451 are seen. Metra F40C 601 is seen also in a cameo. The classic Amtrak Bi-level blast by scene is on this version.
Full length freight train roll bys are here. Two EJ&E SD units are switching in the nearby rail yard.
