Never one to shy away from a challenge, Wampler took up the mantle of this seemingly Sisyphean task, meticulously studying the decades of MOS-style distortions and permutations to capture that MOSFET magic. After multiple bouts of painstaking R&D, Wampler has emerged with the Mofetta, a US-built overdrive pedal that brings the time-tested tones of the lauded early-’90s device that inspired it well into the 21st century, including the classic 3-band EQ, and augmenting it with a texture switch to expand its sonic terrain even further.
