In this video I rough out a red maple bowl with ambrosias beetle damage and I tried, for the first time, boiling the bowl for 1 hour. According to everything I’ve heard it is supposed to release the tension in the bowl and let it dry with minimal deformation and cracking. Time will tell. I also went through my weekly weigh in of my green turned bowls and my system for keeping track of when they are ready to go back on the lathe for finishing. Thanks for watching.
